Checking things off my list

Before I moved I made a list of things I needed to find when I moved to Wisconsin and I'm happy to say I have checked most of them off.

List of things I need to find in a new town
1. New coffee shop and barrista that I love as much as Heavenly Cup. The Nook, but it just closed. Heading up the road to Common Grounds.
2. New wine and brew store, shouldn't be to hard in Wisconsin (at least the brew part). Three Cellars!
3. Dentist, doctor, chiropractor, masseuse. I hate finding these.
4. Grocery store (where I can actually find things instead of calling my dad every 5 mins). Woodman's and my friend said that "if it's not there it shouldn't go in your mouth" which is very true.
5. Running trails. Signed up for a half in May!
6. Dog walking trails. The lake parks are working out swell
7. Friends. Met some great people so far!
8. New hobby- maybe sailing since I will be by the lake. Signed up for a photography class, sailing is next.
9. Local bar with a cool bartender. TG's is winning, but Fec's is a cool hole in the wall. Working on my spot.
10. Great take out place. I think home cooking is winning out at the moment.

I was heading home after my night out with friends and thinking it was a beautiful way to start the year. The air was crisp, the sky bright, and the road almost empty....Happy New Year!

Bedknobs and broomsticks

I can't stop thinking about furniture, a bed to be exact. A bed in my "grown up" apartment would seal the deal. I've been scouring the stores and watching for good deals online. After months of looking I decided that I'm not going to find something I LOVE, maybe it's time to make it. Plus, my attention span with the same decor is as short as a bee seeing the next flower. I'm pretty sure I will want to change it in a year. Due to that reason, I decided to look into a fabric headboard. I just found a new blog Centsational Girl that makes the process of making my own head board appear relatively easy. She has some great tips and a beauty of a headboard herself.

Three Cellars has my two main food groups

A friend recently took me to my now FAVORITE wine and beer shop with ooooooh so much more. As you walk into a corner shop you are greeted by large comfortable leather couches around a coffee table and a wall of beer that beckons you to touch their labels. The opposite wall is laden with wine and for a small uncorking fee they are happy to open and chill it for you while you sit in front of the fire place or watch TV. I think I'm officially addicted and plan to head back sometime this week. It's a perfect way to spend a cold afternoon. Cheers from Three Cellars !
